Instant Gratification: Electra Hallman
Swedish actress Electra Hallman currently stars in „Neverland“, an international theatre project by Antú Romero Nunes at Thalia Theater Hamburg inspired by the life and work of „Peter Pan“ author J.M. Barries.
Obviously, I saw the piece – Thalia being one of my most beloved theatres and Nunes one of my favourite directors – and I was immediately mesmerised by Electra’s performance and presence on stage in the role of Peter Pan.
I invited her for a portrait session right after the show (not something I am in the habit of doing) – and I was lucky to have the pleasure of working with her a few weeks later. We met at a little daylight studio in Hamburg for a few hours of photographic experiments, and it turned out to be a most inspiring encounter.
The film rolls are still stacked in the pile, unfortunately, waiting for their time on the scanner. But luckily we also fooled around with Instax instant photos, and I can share a few of them today.
This is also the beginning of the new series Instant Gratification on this blog, where I will publish past, present and future instant photography adventures, previews and outtakes.
By the way: Before this whole Corona madness, there were still a few Neverland performances scheduled for April and May at Thalia Theater. I really hope that they will be rescheduled and take place in the (not too distant) future. If you have a chance to see it: do not miss out.
