GöteborgsOperans Danskompani Rehearsal
I was lucky to start my visit at GöteborgsOperans Danskompani in the very beginning of the season. That way, I could witness and capture two original creations from their early stages. A phase I personally find very exciting. Firstly, because it can develop so very differently, often highlighting the personal approach and signature of the choreographer. Secondly, because it is often characterised by exploration, playfulness, experimentation, raw power, chaos and mayhem. Very unpolished, still finding its voice. Overwhelmingly beautiful to behold.
This gallery documents the early rehearsals of Marina Mascarell‘s piece. I loved the energy and atmosphere in the room – and still regret I could not stay to experience the final result of the process.
